ADCDA organized a series of awareness workshops in several shopping malls across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as part of the "Most Committed Mall initiative". The initiative was launched to enhance the readiness of these vital facilities and improve their adherence to public safety and prevention requirements.
The workshops included specialized lectures for shopping mall staff, discussing the most prominent fire-related risks in retail environments and explaining safe evacuation procedures during emergencies. Practical training was also provided on the use of handheld fire extinguishers and water hoses, enhancing staff efficiency in responding swiftly to incidents.
This initiative is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to promote preventive safety concepts and raise awareness among shopping mall workers on how to handle emergencies properly. It aims to create a safer environment in high-density public areas by training personnel and enhancing their field readiness, while also encouraging malls to engage in community events that promote a culture of safety and risk prevention.
The Authority awards the "Most Committed Shopping Mall to Safety Requirements" certificate to malls that meet the initiative’s five core pillars. This recognition reflects a high level of excellence and preparedness and encourages positive competition among shopping centers.
