His Excellency Brigadier General Mohamed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, stated that the launch of the name Shield on the patrols comes from the authority's keenness to keep pace with developments and to enhance its efforts in protecting society from risks, providing a safe environment in community facilities, and implementation of the requirements for the prevention of hazardous materials stipulated in the Emirates Guide. For fire protection and life safety.
He stated that Shield patrols would operate around the clock and in the main roads and various areas in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra region to monitor vehicles and tanks transporting dangerous materials in violation.
  He pointed out that a list of violations will be implemented by the Civil Defense Law in this regard in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, urging all owners and drivers of vehicles and tankers transporting dangerous materials to abide by the implementation of the necessary conditions to ensure the protection and safety of Abu Dhabi society.
